Forest is the Brooklyn, New York based studio of Joel Speasmaker and pursues graphic design in the form of art direction, editions & publishing, branding, illustration, web design & development, various curatorial projects, and other stuff.

Joel founded and published The Drama magazine in 2000, while curating related exhibitions and running The Drama Store until 2007. He has served as art director for Anthem magazine and was comics editor for Swindle. Currently he is exhibiting personal work and self-publishing The Small Book series, while continuing to oversee all matters of the design practice.
